Biography
Mira started piano lessons at the age of six with the Russian and French school system in the best artistic school, Lyceum of Fine Arts of Albania. Later she graduated as a composer from the Academy of Fine Arts of Albania where she had the great chance to study with the best composers such as T. Harapi, C. Zadeja who understudied with famous D. Shostakovich at the Tchaikovsky Art Academy of Moscow. Apart from her degree in piano and composition, she has completed several post-graduate studies in Philosophy, Pedagogy, and Psychology. She has been one of the best professors at the Lyceum of Fine Arts of Albania and the National Conservatory of Greece. She has given many master classes for composition and piano in different countries in Europe. Also, she has been artistic director for major music concerts in Albanian and Greece where in 1999 she was the director for the great concert “The Albanian Artists Wish Peace in the Balkans and All the World Concert.” She has completed compositions for theatre, movie soundtracks, symphonic orchestras, solo instruments, vocal, chamber music, and ballet.
Her repertoire includes pieces from pre-classical, baroque, classical, romantic, modern, and contemporary music. She has won numerous first prizes for piano and compositions in national and international festivals and music compositions. Some of her many awards in the U.S include: “Crystal Sponsor 2002” from the Susan G. Komen's Breast Cancer Foundation Race for the Cure of Inland Empire; from the City of Temecula for the memorial day of September 11; and as a pianist for her orchestra performings for big Broadway Shows such as “Fiddler on the Roof,” and “The Music Man.”
She has had many appearances on major TV networks such as the Albanian (TVSH, CLAN TV) and Greek (ANT-1, MEGA CHANNEL), and on Radio stations in Albania, Greece, France, and Italy. Also, she was mentioned in many articles from different newspapers such as the Albanian “Drita,” “Perpara,” “Zeri I Popullit,” the Greek “Eleutherotipia,” the American “The Press-Enterprise,” “Californian,” “Fallbrook/Bonsall Village News” of California, “Illyria” of New York.
She has collaborated with the Russian and Bulgarian “Vaganova Ballet System,” and Royal Academy of Dancing of England, the Albanian Radio-Television Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of Opera and Ballet, Symphony Orchestra of the Academy of Arts, Philharmonic Orchestra of Athens etc. Also, she has collaborated with famous directors and artists including E. Krantja (Italy), E. Koco (England), F. Deda, R. Teqja (Albanian), T. Papavrami (France), R. Radoja, N. Cashku, I. Madhi (Albania), S. Papazoglou, G. Leotsakos, M. Steples, Mrs. Bogojeva, Mrs. Grigoriadhi, E. Georgiadhi, M. Kanatsouli (Greece), L. Moustari (Cyprus), G. Papadhimitri, A. Simoni, G. Kamberi (Canada) etc. Fatmira Kamberi-Malolli has been a well-respected member of leading professional artistic organizations such as the Society of Writers and Artists of Albanian, National Theater of Opera and Ballet, Academy of Fine Arts, Albania, International Society of Contemporary Music-Albanian Section, Association of Hellenic Composers and Artists of Greece, A.F.M Local-47 Hollywood “Professional Musicians” of U.S and Canada.
Mrs. Kamberi-Malolli excels for her fantasy, her rich spiritual world, her extraordinary talent as well as for her modesty and good willing that features her as a person.
